Samui Deep Well

Featured Replies

Hello TV members, looking for anyone with experience with deep well submersible pumps here on Samui. I have a well that is 227 M deep and from my research needs a 2 HP pump with about 23 - 27 impellers. In Bangkok I can find a non-Chinese pump motor, Franklin motor (USA),  for 25,000 baht. Here on Samui my Thai wife was quoted 45,000 baht but will discount to 43,000 baht for the same pump. So I have been looking for other options such as Surat Thani to purchase the pump. Does anyone have any experiences or tips on this subject?

Thanks

I manage a number of properties with deep wells and I have one myself. However, the deepest well that I know of in my area is only about 150 meters.

The better well pumps that I have seen installed are Grundfos and I have seen them at Water Tech near Big C.

BUT the problem with Water Tech is their indifferent after-sales service. We get a lot of power surges here and maintenance is an issue. (Up to 10,000 baht to lift out the pump and 10,000 baht to put it back!)

It looks like the only Grundfos dealer is in Bangkok.

I am not sure if this helps you. Good luck.

Thanks for the response. I have been to Water Tech, and they have Grundfos, Franklin and some other Chinese made motors, that they can order. They are the ones that quoted me the high price. Looking for other experiences as well, thanks again Tropicalevo

Try also to ask at Supot Electric in Bo Phut, they use to have fair prices and can perhaps order, if the don't have (that) deep-well pumps in stock. There is another electric shop, Wattanaporn, selling a variety of pumps opposite Town Center at Bo Phut Ring Road.

Another vote for Supot where we purchased a Thai branded (maybe Chinese made) pump as we were sick of replacing a Grundfos every year at 30,000baht + from the above mentioned water shop who offered zero aftersales service, support or warranty interest only a keen interest in pricing replacements.

The Thai pump has worked tirelessly and reliably for now twice as long at half the price of Grundfos.
