November 21, 20169 yr Hi All, I am looking to buy a rocker arm for my 1.3 sohc engine, have tried ordering from my trusted motor factor shop in Pattaya, they cannot find, have also looked in the local second hand motor shops, but again no luck, any one have any ideas where I might find in this location or farther afield, could travel to Bangkok. The issue is, when the mechanic re built my engine, for some reason or another a perfectly good arm has been replaced with another with damaged threads on the adjusting bolt and inside the rocker arm. I suppose another option might be to find some one who could try and re tap the bolt threads and then lock the bolt in place with lock tight as some of the threads in the arm are partially intact. Any help and advise would be appreciated. Regards Tom
November 21, 20169 yr If you don't have any luck finding a new arm, you could buy a DIY Helicoil kit if you know what the thread size is, e.g. M5,M6,M7,etc... Something like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dapetz-Thread-Repair-helicoil-compatible/dp/B01BVWP5B4/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1479717173&sr=8-15&keywords=helicoil+kit Otherwise find an engineering machine shop who would be able to helicoil the arm for you. Also a quick search came up with this,if it looks correct to you, can order it by delivery. http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/new-replacement-rocker-arm-suzuki-samurai-sidekick-tracker-1-3-and-1-6-8v-engines-8-needed.html
December 6, 20169 yr Author Hi Sotsira, thank you for the info. Tried searching Indian sites but no luck, only seem to have for 16 valve later edition models. Contacted a member of The Jeep Club who helped me with registration of this Jeep, he put me in contact with a mechanic on Sukhumvit Road on the way to Sattahip, he sold me a rocker arm and adjusting bolt and lock nut 200 Baht. Regards Tom
