We are in the process of renovating and furnishing a condo in Hua Hin...we`ve done a bit of shopping around Hua Hin for a flat panel television and accompanying surround sound.I have never spent enough time in Bangkok to know if the prices would be much cheaper..selection better ..Can anyone offer an opinion and point us in the proper direction ...thanks

Not sure about the prices being any different but I recently bought a LG 42 inch HD Plasma from Homepro for <70,000 Baht, they threw in a DVD player and another TV for free. The store is on the corner of Wireless Rd near the Pleonchit BTS station, they have a good selection.

In my experience all the electrical/electronic shops in Bangkok in my area sell most goods at the same price. Even when there is a model on offer in one shop all the other shops have the same offer at the same price. The only way they seem to compete is by offering free gifts. Sounds like price fixing to me, but maybe there are some independent retailers out there somewhere?
