Ferry Service

Featured Replies

Hello all. Can anyone help me. I am looking to get from Hua Hin to Pattya, poss by ferry. Is this poss? Cheers. jimbeam1.

No, not possible.

You will have to drive.

I believe there is a Ferry from Chumporn to Samui..I think its Lomprya and Song Serm used to do it as well..

I vaguely remember the idea of a Pattaya (Laem Chabang?) to Hua Hin ferry service was floated (pun intended) back in the early/mid '90s. Don't recall if it ever materialised but have an idea that it got kyboshed by the vested transport interests.

Pity, a service on that route would be ideal so a visit to HH or south Thailand could be undertaken without the hassle of Bangkok.

Oh well, TIT (as BT would say). :o

I believe a service did exist until a few (several?) years ago.

If there was money to be made I think it would still be operating.

Speaking for myself, I don't think there would be too much demand.

I don't know of a lot of people wanting to travel between the two.

Each city attracts a different clientele for the most part, IMO.

I heard recently that there is going to be a new ferry installed between Cha-Am and Pattya. Anybody heard anything, please?

It has been reported elswhere that a Pier is under construction some 7 km north of Hu Hin nearly half way to Cha Am and that a high speed powercat will offer some kind of fast service between the Hin and Pats. I shall know directly for sure after I get back, but it sounds pretty close to my place.
