Podiatrists In Pattaya

How does one find a podiatrist (good) in Pattaya?

Do you find them at the hospitals, or do they work from seperate clinics?

Specifically I'm interesed in nail bed ablation surgery to treat ingrown toenails.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Have not been treated for ingrown toenails myself, but I guess any of Pattys hospitals are able to take care of this minor problem. I believe most of the clinics are able as well.

My wife go and see a pedicure specialist, they take care of the problem without any surgery.

Sorry - do not know wich one she goes to.... :o

Thanks, I've given up on the pedicure people here because they are hit and miss, and half the time I end up with infections. I only found one girl that could take them out properly, but she's recently moved to Germany. I now want to go for the permanent surgical fix.

I'll head down to PIH today and inquire.

Tropo: I don't think there ARE any podiatrists in Thailand. I've seen other people ask in other forums, and I posted my own query and never got a positive response.

I have an annoying problem that involves the bones and tendons in my foot. I *KNOW* that if I went to a podiatrist in the USA they would immediately understand and treat it, but to go to a general Internal Medicine doctor here in Thailand....?

I had to laugh when I was googling for a podiatrist in Thailand and found that there was podiatrists' convention in Thailand a few years back. Kind of like having snow-removal clinics in Phuket.

The Nite Owl (Bernie) wrote in one of his columns that there weren't any podiatrists in Thailand.

His critics will say that he didn't know everything (and thats perhaps true) but as sure as shittin he knew his way about.

I have never heard of any podiatrists here in the realm. You will get plenty who will play with your tootsie nails but other than that (playing) the most of theem (pedicutists) don't know shyt (and in fact probably cause more ingrown toenail problems with their ministrations)

When I got my medical certificate for my retirement visa at B-P Hospital, I asked the Internal Medicine doc about the availability of a podiatrist.

She was almost offended to think that I thought that just any medical doctor wouldn't have the ability to treat anything to do with a foot. I asked her if B-P hospital had pediatricians, obstetricians, dentists or ophthamologists. She said, of course they do. I asked "why?" and walked away while she still had that puzzled look on her face. I don't think she got it. :o

I fear you are right.

I went down to PIH this afternoon to ask them. I wrote the word down for them, but they really didn't know what a podiatrist is and suggested I see a regular GP.

I passed as I thought maybe I can still find one somewhere. I would have expected that in a town with so many elderly expats there would be one somewhere.

I've been butchered a few too many times by "pedicurists" that I've tried at random at several salons. A good pedicurist can do the trick, but the only girl that I found that can do it correctly has left Pattaya for greener pastures.

I couldn't see a solution except to have the ablation surgery, but now that finding a podiatrist seems impossible, could anyone recommend either a good doctor that can do the operation, or a good pedicurist that can take care of ingrowns.
