Yes to the first question.

Big C Makro sell sour cream have never seem any cottage cheese though well saying that it is available in BKK so someone local might do it.

It's a case of seek and ye shall find. Makro I have noticed sell 3 different sizes of sour cream, biggest being 1lt.
