Child Overstay

Featured Replies

Hi,

My school told me they were sorting out my daughters extension - took the money
They of course have not and she now has an overstay

I know there is no fine etc

But I want her having the proper visa

Can we d a border run and then an extension?

Or do we need to go get a new visa and then extend?

Immigration don't seem to understand or know they keep saying its fine for a child to have no visa.

Thank you

Unless she has multiple entry visa a new single entry non-ed visa would be needed.

What is your status here. If on an extension of stay she may be able to get an extension as your dependent.

You could get her a non-o visa and then an extension as your dependent. Some immigration offices can do a conversion to a 90 day non immigrant visa (category O) entry for dependents of those working for a company.

Since she is on an overstay she would have to go out for a new entry so it would probably be easier to get her a  single entry non-o visa.

Pedang Besar is a better crossing to use if you go to Penang.

If in the south another option is the consulate in Kota Bahru (open Sundays closed on Fridays).
