My son probably should be wearing a helmet most of the time that he is walking to protect his head from falls.

he is one and a half years old, but his head is large, so probably the size of a three year old.

goal one is a cool helmet -- we usually do not have air con -- and a light helmet , in hopes that he will actually agree to wear it.

contrary goals are one that is relatively inexpensive as he may not wear it -- so buy one for a couple of weeks, then a better one once

we see that he will wear it.  Chances are also that his head will continue to grow rapidly and that we will need to replace frequently.

we are also looking for shoes with a firm sole and orthotics to place in them.   A full service store with expertise is preferred to amazon or another shipper.

thank you

Sorry but has the world really come to this?  And I thought bicycle helmets were overkill.  Obviously getting a bit long in the tooth I guess.  :saai:

Lodpuri, my son has spent a third of his life in the hospital, much of it in terrible condition.  We live in Cambodia and have very limited access to health care.  The Thai public hospital saved his life , and we will visit again in January.  They may or may not have time to answer this question -- we have other questions for them  as well.  The recommendation is from a medical professional , I have five kids and numerous godchildren -- I do not insist that any of them wear bike helmets.

If you're coming to Bangkok, I'd suggest trying one of the Decathlon sporting good stores popping up all over town.  They have helmets for biking, for rock climbing, for horse riding and other activities.  You'd probably have a decent chance of finding a helmet your son will like and be likely to wear.  The prices range from a few hundred baht to the sky's the limit, and they seem to cater to families with kids.

You may want to Google Decathlon to see if they have stores near you.  They've been in China for many years, and now growing in Thailand.

Best of luck.
