December 8, 200619 yr Crazed man starts fire and threatens Police with a knife. Police and fire rescue units were called to house number 358/12 in Soi Bangmor off of Soi Beokeow at around 7.30 on Monday Morning to deal with a fire at the location. There was also a report of a crazed man still inside the property who had apparently started the fire and he was apparently armed with a knife. As the fire fighters attended to the first floor fire, Police Colonel Sutin and his team attended to the man who had taken over a disused room on the ground floor. He was carrying a knife and was threatening to hurt anyone who came near him. It soon became clear that the room which was ablaze was in fact rented by the man, Khun Sootjai aged 30 and he lived with his girlfriend, Khun Supanidar aged 28. He explained to Police that he had not seen his Girlfriend for 2 days which deeply disturbed Khun Sootjai who started the fire after falling into a depression. Eventually Police used rubber bullets to disable the man and stormed the room. Eventually after a struggle he was apprehended in a charge led by the Colonel who was slightly hurt in the fracas. The man is now in Police Custody on a charge of Arson and will later be examined by a doctor to determine his mental state and if he should be sent to a mental hospital. -Pattaya City News Monday 4th Decmeber 2006
