Why is it not suitable for a public forum ?....points and opinions on Thai law are discussed over this forum, as regards the getting correct answers this doesnt stop others giving an opinion on law on other legal topics

Rape is rape its that simplen

Would that be a female "raping" a male. Or a male raping a male ?

Given the poster had publically stated on other threads he is gay, one assumes he is asking about male or male rape

Duh!

The law is it's illegal!

No need to be rude

Of course its illegal, but maybe the OPs question is more to do with the attitude of the Thai police if one reported say a male on male rape...

I don't know if it is illegal in this country.  You are correct about the attitude of the police. Would they laugh at me?

Then there's mail rape. That happens alot here.

Are there figures to back this up?

My understanding was that rape is very much under reported in Thailand, although to be honest I have absolutely no idea on the frequency of it here, though i am guessing it is nothing like India where it is almost accepted.

my best view on this it is not necessary to report it to the cops since transgender do their things and gays have their own way of doing thing.

The cops would not even open a fie on that matter.

Sorry but it is the land of smile even if you do not like it.

Gay or not isn't rape rape.  Or cannot gays consent.  In which case it is rape as rape needs lack of consent.  Well there is consent which is not consent....so what would not be rape is rape.

You think a man has to be gay to be a victim of rape?

This is just one of many reasons men don't report rapes, and their attackers get away with this crime.

It happen a lot in jail and they do not have to be gays in order to take the sex they want like other religions tha would say emergency need of sex for relief.

You are correct when you talk about transgender have their own ways. This is my problem, with a transgender.

Correct. Some people here think it is funny. How funny would it be if it happened to them.

Yes, rape is illegal in this country.  How the police will react depends on the individual policeman and your circumstances.  You won't know until you report it.  They may require a certain amount of proof...as they would in a male/female rape situation.  The question is, how are you defining rape?  Was there penetration or just touching?

What's funny is it sounds like your implying something has gone on which is a very serious matter and not one you would casually address in a forum and on the other hand only a matter of an hour or so ago your discussing the legalities of work permits etc for digital nomads? Hope all is well anyway.

The difficulty with rape in general, in every country, is proof. Many ladies who accuse men of rape lose their case as it is considered her word against his. Some ladies make false accusations of course but my personal view is that most do not. Most men accused of rape are not prosecuted - but many of them are guilty.

Thai law on rape? It is illegal. The question that you have to answer is can you prove that it happened and that it was without consent? Not an easy task. I don't think the Police will laugh at you but they may not do anything if the accused claims that it was consensual and you have no witness to back you up.

But what is rape....male or otherwise.  Does the consent have to be real...or can it be based on false promises.   If the promises made are false is it rape or not

I've no idea what your point is? False promises?

Don't engage him.  He's trolling.  There are lots of supporters of rape on Thaivisa, as is in clear evidence in threads like those discussing Bill Cosby.  They come out of the woodwork to provoke rational people, and are best ignored.
