no stock

I'm almost sure these steering wheels can be found in Thailand. We just don't really know where to look for. It would be easier if living in Bangkok, I think...

For EMPI parts and others I found this:

http://www.vwshowtime.com/v2/catalogue/index.html

Here some 4 lugs rims (BRM, EMPI):

http://www.vwshowtime.com/v2/catalogue/4_detail/wheel.html

Just an idea, Lannaguy:

What about opening a thread in the TV cars motor-forum and ask gents there if someone know about some "big" Classic Beetle parts dealer?

Many seems really knowledgeable  there...

Today I went to a tires/wheels small family shop near home to get my Beetle punctured spare wheel fixed.

By chance the guy has many clean 2nd hand alloy rims sets for sale. Some 15" 4 lugs, but 5" or 5.5" wide.

I asked him if there were 4 lugs 130, he didn't know (or understand?). H

As far as I know the only cars with the 130mm  bolt pattern are VW  and 914 Porsche

it is not on any Japanese cars  , you   can look on wheel manufacturer websites  to check

I agree, I like the first one.

To my tatse the BRMs are "too much".

My favourites are those EMPI. They are actual copies of the '60s - '70s EMPIs rims, so if "mandatory", they are period correct:

Or those, no black spokes:

Available from the link above...

Ah, not easy to decide :passifier:

I agree, no rush!

First take her as she is, then drive and go around, while learning how she behaves and how you feel. And by the time ideas to "improve" or "modify" her will emerge...

There have been Repros made of the EMPI 8 spokes  since the 1970s , probably   copied by a dozen companies so make sure the set you get is matching !

at the swap meets around here you can get a set of  4  for $200

another nice look are the Minilites , but much  harder to find ,

Well... decided on the combination of white/cream and take out as much of the black stuff i can as i think it looks far more classy. Now at the upholsterers getting cream seat coverings and delivered the wheel to Khun Nui this week

could you post a picture of the finished seats, would be nice to see

this were for sale the other week, but sold within the hour

yes happy too... also decided to go with wheels rims 130 4 bolts as have read there may be issues with the conversion to 5 bolts (load, bearings, brakes etc.). I have also converted all drums to disc brakes.

Wow the "full" set-up!

I agree. I think better to go with the 130 4 lugs rims: safer in my mind...

Hi, sorry been in Philippines last two weeks... will go pick up Bertie this week or early next and will post some new photos. The interior was done by a guy Mr. Nui knows

he should have installed the roof rack, steering wheels and new rims soon i hope  :)

I kept the interior 'real' and simple and decide no piping etc. which, although looks nice, sort of looks too 'modern' for me so just plain cream

I debated in my mind modern rims too... but decided that they really do enhance the car so have ordered a plain chrome set (no black contrast) but I think any thoughts on picking up this week was just a hope  lol

I guess, with Songkran, it might be late may or June before i finally get to pick Bertie up - I'll go over next week and take a look
