Funniest post ever on ThaiVisa

This question comes up every now and again.

What is the funniest thread that you can recall on this forum?

Sometimes, the thread was locked or even deleted, and some of the members suspended or banned :shock1:

For me, the funniest thread (I need to search for it again), was about the 'farang' guy who claimed the same seat in a cafe every day, and who would get very angry if he found someone else sitting in 'his' seat.

We (TV members) had a great discussion about this guy, and worked out a schedule so that one of us would deliberately arrive early at the cafe and occupy his seat. Then let the fun begin.

I never did find out if that guy was a TV member!

How about you?  What was your funniest thread on this forum?

Oh man, one thread IMMEDIATELY stands out.   I remember guffawing until doubled over in pain and  tears pouring down my cheeks, trying to make it through a thread thirteen years ago.

The thread topic was a "farang" primer on how to negotiate Asian-style squat toilets and the accompanying clean-up process.

Virtually every poster had worked out his/her own awkward method, and most were hilarious. The testimonials dealt with which direction to face (many conflicting opinions),  shoe-clad or barefoot, what to do with your clothes, fighting off insects, managing without a tissue or bum-gun (one squeamish traveler objected to having to "finger-paint" their bum to clean up afterwards), etc.

One guy had a 19-step process worked out in detail, which included keeping a clothes hanger always handy in his daypack.  Others gave guarded advice on how to fish your phone out of the hole after dropping it out of your pants pockets into the nasty pile you had already created there.

Two or three similar-topic threads have come up since, but none nearly so screaming-fun as that first one.    I think I found it:

P.S. Simon, I remember the thread you referred to.  That was a classic!  Certainly a TV team effort that shone!

Kens "weatherstick" invention was gold.

Ken posted a photo of his new invention the "weatherstick".

A bamboo stick with a plastic bag tied to the top. It could show wind direction and speed, rain (if it was wet), even snow. An old concept but the way he presented it was pure classic. It was closed and possibly deleted.

Soon after Ken had a few drinks too many and told everyone what he thought of them. Of course he was banned, but the following day his "friend" joined up and begged forgiveness for his mate.

They both rode off into the sunset never to be heard from again.

Posted a reminder only the other day about a post on TV some years back,  still makes me laugh.

A poster was bleating on about lots of things in Thailand and ended with    " If your drinking at 9.00 o/c in the morning it's time to go home."

The next post reply was  " Is 9.15 OK."

Replying to the OP, (why do I not get a "quote" to click on) yes the one about the angry farang was brilliant. Wonder if he is still about and if he still gets territorial about his favourite seat/table.

I have a vague memory that the restaurant finally refused him service.

Or maybe that is just my wishful thinking. :whistling:

One of the funniest posts (this year) is by Tech Doctor in the currently running thread in the Forum Support\Ad Blocker Notification.

To do with a bogus account from the CEO of ThaiVisa................;)

You might have to read the thread to understand.
