BMA tackles 217 risk spots around Bangkok

BANGKOK, 6 February 2017 (NNT) – The Deputy Bangkok governor has revealed that the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has adopted accelerated solutions to tackle 217 risk spots that were proposed by the Metropolitan Police Bureau.

Deputy Bangkok governor Chakkaphan Phiewngarm said that the Metropolitan Police Bureau had surveyed spots seen as vulnerable to crime in Bangkok and a total of 217 such risk spots were identified.

He has instructed the BMA to improve these areas by installing light posts, demolishing abandoned buildings and installing CCTVs to prevent the criminal activities that have often occurred in these areas in the recent past.

The 50 District Offices have already implemented solutions to the problem by cutting back long grass as a start. It is expected that the risk spot improvement initiative will be completed by March.
