Australian (NSW) Drivers Licence Renewal

Featured Replies

Not sure if this is possible.....have been living in Thailand for 5 years and not returned to Australia in that time, so am a non-resident as fas as Oz is concerned.

My Drivers Licence is still valid and will expire soon. Am I still able to renew it or have I placed myself in the invalid box due to non-residency? I still use my parents address to keep a bank account going in Oz.

If I can still renew it, do I have to travel to Oz, or can it be done through the Australian Embassy?

Cheers for any help in this matter.

Many Thanks for that Simple1......will get on it right away.

Cheers.

I renewed mine last year, 6 months before it was due, I think or whatever the limit (time frame) is and had it sent to my PO Box and my daughter brought it over when she came here in December.

Since you still have your parents address I suggest you sent them the form with the photos and get your parents to send it to them, I think they are in Parkes or somewhere like that, they will then forward it back to your parents address, and then your parents can sent it back to you, no point in letting them know that your in Thailand.

Good luck
