Major Cultural Disaster as Karaoke Machine Damaged by Rock.

The 47-year-old Thai owner of the Supan Restaurant on Third Road in South Pattaya called local police on Monday night after rocks were thrown into his establishment, damaging a karaoke machine.

The owner told police he thought he knew who the culprit was, suggesting it was one of his former young female staff and her Thai boyfriend, who used to work in the hairdressers next door.

The owner said the young girl and the young man had started seeing each other and the shop owner had thought it wise to warn her to be careful in matters of the heart. She had allegedly taken offence at her employer’s statements and quit her post. The young man had quit his job soon after.

On Monday night the owner claimed he saw his former employee and her boyfriend park their motorbike nearby the shop and soon after he was ducking for cover as rocks were being lobbed into his shop.

The karaoke machine suffered damage, although it is possible the attackers were thinking they were performing a public service or were not pleased at the selection of tunes available for aural assault.

Police have placed the attack on the defenceless machine at the top of priority and are looking for the assailants. :o
