Security forces found a stolen pickup truck rigged with about 80 kgs of explosives stuffed in two 15-kg gas canisters and jelly cans of gasoline near a border patrol police camp in Thepa district of Songkhla on Tuesday.

A team of explosives ordnance disposal (EOD) officers was then alerted of the finding and rushed to the scene to defuse the two rigged gas canisters.

Police are yet to locate the truck owner, Mr Kartpon Puwavimon, a resident of Thepa district, and his wife, Mrs Thitatha, who went missing after the couple went to tap rubber in their rubber plantation in Tambon Tha Muang.
