On behalf of a friend the question is ;   he was told by another Brit that after the fourth renewal proof of funds was not needed , I told him very doubtful and in fact the funds now have to be shown in the bank account for 3 months . Please give the correct latest requirements / changes .

 

We are aware that there has to be proof of the marriage by way of an up to date stamped marriage cert copy .  When did this change come in ?  (could not find in TV  archives  )

Money in the bank every year for 2 months.

Apart from Marriage Certificate you need a Kor Ror 2 document.

Get it from the local amphur.

Some immigration offices want it updated every year.

A visa cannot be renewed or extended.

For an extension of stay (it is not a visa)  based upon marriage the 400k baht must be in the bank for 2 months for every extension application.

I am on my 9th extension and had to show financial proof to get it.
