The Positive and Negative Things the Military Government have done to Thailand.

Featured Replies

In your opinion, what are they? I think they have done well in clearing off these selfish vendors who caused blockages on the pavements in lower Sukhumvit and elsewhere.

So what are your thoughts on anything this government have done? We all know what they should do, but haven't, but what have they actually done, positive or negative.

Clearing out boats Bahli high Pattaya
Reclaiming stolen land all over thailand especially on koh samet
Lower Sukhumvit where I live is free at last, big wide footpaths!
Motor bike rentals banned from beach Rd parking. Not sure how that went though

Junta are the best thing that has happened.

They stopped the protests

They stopped the road blockages

They ensure the airport stays open

They locked up the red shirts

They are going after Thaksin for reaping billions of baht from the thai people

They are going after the previous government for initiating a fraudulent rice scheme

Khun Prayuth is working hard to ensure Thailand is safe and has governing stability

Might be difficult to know/list the negative things, with restricted freedom of the press.

We care not restricting what you want to put as negatives rijb------list them ---all of them.....

Just a friendly reminder.

We might not hear/learn about all of the negatives, until the Junta rides off into the sunset.

Isn't that the same with most governments rijb ??

Bush -Obama...Blair....etc a mess that we are still cleaning up.

But this question is in the here & now----- List the negatives that we know of now.

And I do find it a little odd when people quote stuff like -- "restricted freedom speech".....on an completely open forum run now by one of Thailand's National newspapers , for everyone to read..

.

Oh...Wait.....what's that banging on my door.............:shock1:

I am glad you feel that way aaronshih2001----- I will not only erase your name from my little book on dissidents that  I am keeping , but also I wont even mention anything about your post to the Grammar police.....(great answer just--"No Negative" in that response............:coffee1:

I think the government have made it more difficult than necessary to accommodate people under fifty who don't want to get married and want to stay here long term, although I do understand their reasons for doing it.

Possum,  just don't increase the price of beer ....

you know i'm an alcoholic and i've had 6 bottles already ....:burp:

Yeah me thinks the Junta type gov's are OK they can be neutral in what seems a divided society.

One gets the feeling if elections are ever held it wouldn't be long before another intervention.

What's happening here is similar to the former Yugoslavia
President TITO ruled with an iron fist untill his death. Talking politics was strictly forbidden and he had secret police arresting people suspected of trying to destabilize the government.

This was for good reason though he knew that a civil war was brewing and the rest of course is history.

The people of thailand refuse to respect a democratically elected government. So the way I see it they have 2 options

A North Korea style communist dictatorship or as it stands the Junta which is going about their business in a non violent and productive manner seems to be the best choice

Here we go again, I don't believe you Steven, you seem to want everyone to think you are an alcoholic and get smashed

everyday, yet you are still alive and kicking:drunk:

They should stick a soldier in each school to supervise the teachers and the children.

Can I be absolutely frank here? No of course I can't because of that this topic is somewhat pointless. The junta if we are giving credit where credit is due have had an amount of success silencing their detractors if that counts.
