Bus to Khanchanaburi (No Longer at Victory MonumentO

Last weekend I decided to go from Bangkok to Khanchanaburi for a couple days. What I used to do was go to Victory Monument and hop a mini van for 90 Baht. Now, I learn this is all over. No more minivan service from Khanchanaburi. Does anyone know of another method that to go from Bangkok to Khanchanaburi that is convenient and doesn't involve renting a car? I have seen that there are busses from the Western Terminal but that is way out in Thonburi/Salaya.

Thanks

Thonburt SRT station- 100 baht.  There is a  train at 7 am and 2.40 pm (check the exact times at the SRT  website).  3rd class rail car. Not too crowded. However, you will arrive  filthy as the windows are open and the quality of passengers isn't the best. Just  used this and have been washing the dust and diesel grime out of my clothes and ears all week.

Very same topic has been put here some 4-5 times by now. VANs were chased away from here from 1/11/16. OPEN eyes and look-there are FREE AC orange BMTA buses from that Vict. MOn to Sai Thai terminal(the ''old'' ST-for the vans-NOT that one much further out for the big buses) and also to Mochit, where there are also vans. And smarty: there is hardly any time ''lost'' as vans from VicMOn would also have to use the very same clogged up BKK_streets.

IF you had been so smart to tell your actual place of start in BKK-there may have been easier ways to get there.

OH; again: still no pesky TV-responders who will preach about the unsafety and peskiness of those vans?
