I agree = it does depend on which Makro you go to  here in Phuket.  In rawaii I had to apply for a card, which incidentally took over a week to get.

However here in Kata - no card - no problem.

Yes, same with the two Samui Makro stores, one has a card at cashiers check out and  the other does not (Lamai), told to go get a temporary card at front desk...

They are not all same same.!

As long as you grab that chickenwing with bare hands and put it in a bag it's no problem....after that you are not allowed to wash your wands since this is thailand...

I just saw they sell the 3kg blocks of cheese there which cost half the price of small blocks compared to weight. So much profit for them for only cutting/packing cheese.

You just have to compare the prices at Food D'Italia (if it still exists around sukhumvit soi 33 -- way back) to the sliced italian stuff in big markets....  (their website died and has now been hijacked -- hope they are still in business).  They are a wholeseller of Italian products for restaurants etc.  My sister use to come to town and do some bulk shopping to bring back home (posted to an Embassy in Asian [not SE Asian] region nearby).  I can blow through bulk purchase sized quantities pretty easily (probably not the best for the health though :shock1: )

I got a card at the Pattaya location when shopping with a Thai friend.
I like the store because they have a number of things I have not seen elsewhere, like legs of lamb, for instance, or packages of ground beef. Good deals on packages of odd lot sausage, as well. Cheese.
Only problem for me is I pretty much have to bug a friend with a car... I do not care to ride my motor scooter into the city.

My CIMB ATM let's me use any ATM in LOS...no fee, no interprovincial fee...would be handy at Mauro...since they won't take my Cities Platinum card.  Smells very bad in many of their stores...good beer prices.  I was going to get cases of Heineken and Tiger delivered by Tesco...only small packages....so they deliver singles, you have to lug cases yourself.

The Tesco that delivers here in Bang Saray has allowed me to order Chang by the case... individual store policy?

Yeah, Heineken largest size is the twelve pack of 490ML cans.... Tiger the four pack. of 320ML.
This may be why I have been ordering Chang,....Chang Bottle Beer 620ml X 12 Bottles  for 568 baht.
