Can you tell me more about farang life in Nong Kai or Nom som. ? ? ?

I am now living in Buriram which is very farang friendly.  My Thai wife's village is Nom Som. We are thinking about buying a small home in the area that we can go to for holiday.

Should I be worried about the crime rate or drugs?  ? ?  Do the Thai's in small villages accept farangs?  ? ?  How about tv and Internet access?  ? ? Medical facilities? ? ? Big C or Tesco? ? ?
