Hi guys,

Sorry, if this has been covered but I cannot find it anywhere. If it has then a link to that thread would be most appreciated.

Me, my Thai wife and child (with UK passport) want to move back to the UK. I'm a British citizen and currently meet the financial requirements with my long term job in Bangkok, so can we set it up to all move together if I have a guaranteed job back in the UK that also meets the financial requirements?

I'd hate to have to move back first and then they come to meet me after etc. If we head back then she'd have to go into work immediately too, so a 6 month visitor isn't going to work.

Also, as my child has a British passport, I assume I would just need to meet the first of the two options below, right?

From British gov site:

You must also meet the financial requirement of:

  • £18,600 per year if you’re applying only for yourself
  • £22,400 per year for you and one child

Ah, I do have another question that i haven't found the answer to. As my wife will need to pay a health surcharge when moving to the UK I assume that means she'll be able to use the NHS?

In response to your report that you have found the info. I will leave your topic open in case you have questions.

But for the benefit of others who may be in a similar position:

Yes

Correct; it's the first.

British citizens are not subject to the immigration rules, so any British children of an applicant (whether the children are dual nationals or not) are not included in the financial requirement; they don't have to pay the NHS surcharge either.
