The main hurdle is having a proof of residence that is accepted by the DLT.

Are you here on a Non-O visa, an extension of stay or ...?

If you are only on a visa exempt or tourist visa it could become difficult to obtain.

 

You need proof of address, doctor letter, international permit, as well as national licence , go the day before to the licencing office get all the required forms, turn up early the next day 7.30- 8 ish, after a few tests, reaction and eye colour blind test you can then swop for a Thai licence to cover the same groups of vehicles you have on your national licence. The Thai licence should be issued  for 2 years
