British Passport Renewal and DHL

I submitted a passport renewal at VFS in Bangkok last week.  At the time I was given a tracking number for DHL.

 

What is the purpose of this number?  Does it track my application going to the UK or will it be used when they send it back?

 

At the moment the DHL tracking website just says it's not found.

Ok now. Tracking number finally showed up on DHL website. Application has arrived at HMPO.

Give it a couple of weeks and if your paperwork is in order you will get a call (and email) to say your passport is ready to be collected....take the paperwork that you got in Trendy from VFS (basically just the one page receipt you were given when you applied) and your old passport and all is good.

As I long as I get the new one within the 'normal' 4 weeks, all is good.

dont forget the letter you get with your new passport,authorising immigration to transfer any stamps from your old to your new one.

and if your lucky that will be 500bht.for the service.

Just got an SMS message telling me that my passport has been picked up by DHL and the expected delivery date is Friday.

 

Really quick turnaround of 9 days if nothing goes wrong.

How long did it take to get a call/email from VSF as I also have the DHL confirmation that passport has been deliveredon Monday.
