Hi everyone

I will come to Pattaya in the end of April, and stay for one month. Yes it's pretty short time but I still want to find something good for 5000-7000 baht excl. water and electricity. I don't have to much time for walking around in search for a room, so any suggestions that could help me?

I'm looking for something close to a baht-bas route, close to market selling fruits/vegetables and if it's easy to get to the beach the better it is, though I prefer Wongamat/Phratamnak/Jomtien beaches over Pattaya beach.

I will be fine with fan room too (if it has balcony), maybe that could be hot this time of year but overall I do prefer fan over A/C. A bed to sleep in of course, a room that is clean and somewhat quiet and safe. Tv, fridge, pool etc are just bonuses. I'm not a big fan of soi Buakhao, narrow soi with much traffic. Jomtien, Phratamnak, Pattaya Klang, Pattaya Tai are all interesting areas, maybe Naklua rd too.

Thank you

Try Soi Photisarn Opposite the fresh market. Easy to get to Wongamart beach and close to baht bus route.

Thank you. I just looked at Google Maps and there are signs advertising rooms for 4000-5000 baht in that area.

Are there baht-buses on soi Potisan? I looked at the new routes and route 4 seems to go half way up on soi Potisan.

I hope to find some good Thai massage nearby also.

Why don't you try AirBNB ?   Then you can live in a private condo with swimming pool for around the same price.

I tried. But the rents I found was more expensive than what I'm looking for.

I looked again. You are right. The rents seem to be lower than what AirBNB shows, just have to take contact with the owners and they give you a better price. Thanks.

No you will have to walk about 7 minutes to the ones on Naklua Rd....... oh...and ignore the new routes they have about as much relevance as Coconuts Bangkok has to news,

Try the Jomtien Longstay Hotel, behind the Machanu statue at the Second Road/Thappraya junction. They used to do small but decent rooms for around 6K/month. The place has a rooftop swimming pool and it's right by the Baht bus route between Jomtien and Pattaya. Rompho market for fresh fruit and veg and the food court is a few hundred metres away down Second Road, and you're close to the beach and all the bars and restaurants in Jomtien if you don't feel like going into Pattaya for fun.

Thanks for that! That's seems like a very good location! I will check it up...

I also tried to contact some apartments etc with Line/email but it seems difficult to get in contact with many of those businesses, the information is not up to date or they just don't answer, not really "western standard" in that sense. It seems like the easiest way to get those really good deals are to visit in person. I still found two great offers on airbnb. The first one wanted 8000 baht but with airbnb service fee it became 9200 baht, a bit higher than what I thought but great price for the standard and location. It's a room in Jomtien Condotel & Village, very close and with direct access to Dongtan beach, sea breeze, baht-bus outside on Thappraya rd, no thai market close by but I could easily take the baht-bus to either Jomtien Night Market, or to Rattanakorn or Thepprasit Market.

The other deal was for 5500 baht, and she could take cash so no service fee there. That building is on top of Pratamnak soi 6. It's further away from the beach and don't have any pool so probably I would need to take mototaxi or baht-bus to the beach, transport is cheap but if you go to beach everyday then it's not so fun maybe. But instead it has walking distance to Pratamnak/Pattaya Park Plaza Night Market (whatever you call the market), which is nice. And baht-bus is even closer outside on Thappraya rd same as the other one.

Great locations both of them and good standards. 4000 baht difference. Can't really go wrong with any of them but I sort of booked the first one already before I got the other offer, I can still unbook the first one but then I would maybe regret that. Both seem to have a russian lady renting them out. So there are a lot of great deals to find, and many are not marketing on airbnb etc so I think if taking time to walk and search there will be even better prices, good to do if staying long-term but in my case staying only one month I'm ok with both of these offers. And I'm also a bit weak for this area between Dongtan/Pratamnak beach and Thappraya rd, it's "outside" the main hustle but still pretty close to a lot of things.

Try Maman Mansion. Centrally located. good reputation.1 month 7900 baht - plus utilities:

Thanks! I like the area around Pattaya Klang. I also read before that there are several apartments with good rents on that same soi (soi 10 Pattaya Klang).

You should also find out the rates for utilities. The landlord can easily make up the difference by putting a surcharge on your water and electricity bills.

Yes thanks, easy to forget sometimes...

the problem with this endeavor is that to get a room in that price range your going to have to foot search and walk in and pay cash (they dont have fancy websites and advance booking).

that means your going to need to book a hotel until you find a place, by the time you secure a cheap room that suits your needs its going to end up costing you the same as if you just booked airbnb, you also going to blow several days trudging around in the heat rather then enjoying yourself.

its not worth it for a single month stay.
