extension of non-o visa (retirement) with 11 months left until expiry of British passport
I've no idea how you came across the article linked in the topic above as you wouldn't come across it browsing their main UK Passport page, but it was published 21/7/2021 (Mid-Covid) so am sure was correct on that date. They posted another article (which is on their main UK Passport page) on 27/7/2021 saying that HMPO centre would reopen on 30/07/2021 ... https://thaivisa-express.com/bangkok-hmpo-resumption-of-services/ I don't see a problem with that,. TBH it was a toss up between them & Key Visa but I live in Wongamat so instead of me popping in when I happen to be in town (at least once per week) I would have had to make a couple of trips out to South Pattaya (Where I go maybe once per year). Have to confess I was also nervous about the service from Key Visa since Darren died, but doing the research beforehand have read some very positive feedback about them so if I lived in South Pattaya or frequented Big C, Lotus, Makro, Outlet Centre etc... there I may well have gone with KV. As it is, I used TVE to renew my UK passport in July & their service was flawless so can personally recommend them, other's may have used KV and say the same. -

Expats in Thailand urged not to worry about negative income tax
Suggest AN users read the 15 October Thai Examiner which says just the opposite. That ALL ADULTS including expats will be included in the new tax schemes. I am not sure everyone has seen this but it is about the negative income tax and to support the aging citizens of this country. This article is under the "LIVING" category. Just saying as this indicates that expats specifically are targetted in the NIT scheme. oh well, nothing new, just more confirmation but certainly sounds more like they want it to happen sooner rather than years later. My opinion only -

Bangkok Stop Over
I'll apply for the Transit Visa as it looks straight forward enough and will try and remember to comeback here and say what the outcome was. Never having done such a long layover before do they automatically remove luggage and you collect it as normal or is it held and transferred to the next leg of the flight. -

EV Charging Stations (CS)
11 months of the year I have more solar power than I can use. Most years it’s every month. I do commute occasionally to our house in Chiang Mai. That house has a charging point for my daughters MG4, but it doesn’t have solar power, so it costs me. I would like to be able to charge up at Chiang Mai using my 30,000 baht Rêver credit, but it’s almost impossible because everybody is free charging. I would like to go on a road trip to Khao Lak, but again that’s impossible, unless I pay for all my charging. -
