Very few countries actually have extradition treaties with Thailand.

Having the death sentence (potentially) often impedes extradition; the crime simply has to have the death sentence as an option.

Making his travel and life more challenging seems worth the effort: pull passport(s) (Yes, he can buy others), Red Notice on Interpol, shame/boycott/protest Red Bull and their other F1 sponsors.

Assume we won't be seeing this again anytime soon? If we do, hopefully Max Varstappen doesn't clip any policemen.

if they issue the arrest warrant

then the UK should revoke his visa

its obvious that thailand has NOT issued an arrest warrant, because they have an EXTRADITION TREATY with the UK.

The entire F1 Red Bull Racing team and anyone else who accepts sponsorship from this organisation should hang their heads in shame!

I very much doubt that any Red Bull sponsored team or individual would have any idea about this cretin or the subject.

if he was not in Thailand authorities could proceed to seek his extradition to face justice in Thailand.

next thing is the extradition hurdle:

1) they will ask the wrong country... another year

2) there will be a mistake in the paperwork... another year

3) appeal after appeal after appeal... infinite years

Start a campaign against Red Bull using social media. That's the only tactic likely to work. I don't think F1 fans, or people in Europe where the scumbag hides out, will like that this person can just get away with this. If he is innocent why doesn't he go to trial and let the prosecution prove hat he is guilty.

Another thing, how is it that some charges have fallen away because of the statute of limitations? Surely the statute of limitations should be suspended for every time the accused fails to turn up or his lawyers ask for a postponement? This case proves the lack of justice.

Despicable as these high profile cases are, they are an information bonanza for anyone considering carving out a life for themselves in Thailand.

The bad news is that it takes the "I didn't know" excuse off the table if and when their Thailand Adventure goes south for them.

Red Bull and their F1 entities employ thousands of innocent people who would be hurt by any such action, while the perpetrator would be generally unscathed- shielded by the $$$ billions already in the family estate.

This guy will surely evade justice. He will have "carte blanche" everywhere he goes. II believe that in reality, no arrest warrant will ever be issued for Vorayuth Yoovidhya. There is too much money at stake for the ones who have to get him.

Another day and another warrant.  Have they considered an international arrest warrant for this fugitive killer?  They are just trying to look like they are doing something but really dont care

Technically speaking it's not, "Another day and another warrant" as they have yet to seek a warrant (since he first jumped shipped in 2012). They will now 'request' a warrant for the first time. Tomorrow we will read that warrants for "reckless driving causing death" can't be issued if the defendant is not in the country or some similar bs (kind of like when they finally got the arrest warrant for Dhammachayo, but then were unable to arrest him, because they didn't have a search warrant too. Doh! -_- )

No no no, next is arrest warrant, you can already see the problems, wrong spelling for name, wrong birthdate, wrong address to serve warrant, not signed by the correct official etc. - the corrections should only need about 5 years to correct, after which they can get on with extradition cock-ups.

U can't hang one of your own out to dry. Should be given a goal term and made paid millions in compensation which can be then channelled into education programs to empower Thais to go after these mongrel no hoppers. What actual work does this young man do in the Red Bull dynasty.

Have they not thought about revoking his passport,

Sorry, that action is reserved solely for former PM's who operated rice scams that defrauded the country of billions who practiced 'illegal' populist policies that have been embraced by subsequent, opposition 'governments'..

"We will then ask police to seek an arrest warrant from the court."

And thereby he will remain free for as long as he can pay. There's neither a policeman nor a court in the realm that's going to piss on it's own parade over this odious business.

Wish him the best ! I hope that he will be able to clear this shiiite definitively and show all the low so that he is still the boss !

Bad luck for him that Thailand now has a gvt that pretends to care justice and law.

Failing to appear in court to face charges in  most countries means an immediate bench warrant is issued for the arrest of the person so they can be forced to face the court.

So easy for him to just never come back or wait that a better gvt take power !

Really not sure what they are expecting from this. If they are serious they should

revoke his passport and apply to have him extradited. Enough f---ing around. :coffee1:

AS if he didn't have many passports from many different countries ! funny you !

The main issue is whether and issuance of an arrest warrants serves to stop the tolling of the statute of limitations. Based on other cases similar to this, it would be my understanding that the statute of limitations continues to run.  Therefore, an arrest warrant has little value if 'Boss' can still evade the charges just by waiting them out.

Am I the only one that has observed the current Prime Minister (ex army) is totally silent on this major issue that smears Thailand's reputation and totally smells of corruption at high levels of the Judicial system. The Prime Miniter has promised to clean up corruption and if needed use Article 44. Why is he so silent ????, Nothing changes in Thailand. It's  all talk and no action against those that have money. The rich are all James Bond (007). Licence to kill with impunity and government support.
