Three construction workers were crushed to death when a huge crane used to lift concrete beam at the construction site of the Red Line train project in front of Wat Don Muang collapsed.

The identities of the victims were not known at press time.

I hope nothing happened to their Safety First sign, and it can still be used. :coffee1:

Ah " health & Safety" in Thailand .O%

Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect

100,000 baht compensations to each of the victims and it's all good...

why worry about safety measures when lives are cheap in Thailand?....

Cruel, but sadly, so appropriate.:shock1:

Looks like it was  the launching beam that failed during the move to lift the next span, the most risky part of the operation.

The guys working on the beam stood no chance

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Failure to put dunnage under outriggers and not putting enough stick out then booming in or out under load come to mind here as potential risks, also no load scales so lift till there is no weight on the outrigger.

I remember many years ago here using a 300 tonne crane for a job here,it was ok to use up country but didn't pass the permit to work in Bangkok.
