186 houses damaged by thunderstorms in Phitsanulok

By The Nation

Thunderstorms damaged 186 houses in six districts in Phitsanulok on Friday evening to Saturday morning, officials said.

The Phitsanulok Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office said three people were also injured by the storms that hit 17 tambons in districts of Chat Trakarn, Prompiram, Wangthong, Bang Krathum, Bang Rakam and Mueng.

Bang Rakam district was the hardest-hit with 86 houses damaged and three people injured.

Bang Rakam district chief Akkarachote Suwanthong said most of the damaged houses had their roofs blown away.

He said a 65-year-old woman, Noei Kosaphon, who was staying alone at her old house, suffered minor injuries after the building collapsed in high winds.

Wow this sounds like a pretty powerful storm, I hope the area was needing the rain to refill the

local reservoirs and dams.

Geezer

And 186 builders who yesterday said "no problem, it will hold".  And today "not my fault the wind was strong". Mistakes are never made or learned from.
