BANGKOK, 13 May 2017 (NNT) – A deputy governor of Bangkok inspected flood-risk areas in Wattana district and prepared to install water pumps and additional draining systems to drain out water in anticipation of heavy rains.

Deputy Bangkok Governor Chakkaphan Phiewngarm and Deputy Drainage and Sewerage Department Director Narong Ruengsri inspected flood-risk areas at Khlong Tan Bridge, Soi Sukhumvit 71, Ekamai Road and Soi Pridi Phanomyong 41.

The Deputy Governor of Bangkok said that additional water pumps will be installed to help drain water faster into canals.

All district offices have been instructed to inspect flood-prone areas for temporary installation of water pumps. He explained that rainfall below 60 millimeters should not cause flooding.

The start of this year has been very wet. It might be a very wet year. Flash flooding will be in the news soon.
