I have read a couple of things online saying Thais with EU spouses do not need to make an appointment at the German embassy and can just turn up.  No one answers the phone there though to confirm this and a person on the online chat was epically unhelpful.  Does anyone know if it is true?  And how long the process takes?

Thanks a lot,

Westen
