They overestimate his base.  No one likes Trump.  Soon everybody will wake up and realize his is President not because anyone likes him but because everyone hated his opponent.  Trump didn't get elected Hillary got defeated.  Jerry Springer would have won.  A black guy from Chicago who never had a legitimate job beat her. That should have told you something.

I like him and think he's going a great job. MAGA

Since the popular vote has nothing to do with who wins the election why mention it and what does it have to do with the topic impeachment?

Such games --  you know very well I was DIRECTLY responding to another member who posited the hypothetical IF trump wins the popular vote.

No one hates Trump more than I do, but he won't be impeached.  Here's why.

Old news. Of course it's very hard to impeach a president and it should be. But there are other ways he could leave that are impeachment related. Such as something so damaging being brought to light that he's "persuaded" to self impeach ... like Nixon.

Former CIA Director tells Donald Trump to go to hell

Donald Trump has managed to offend, outrage, and alienate just about everyone in the United States intelligence community who’s remotely competent. We’ve seen one prominent intel voice step forward after another to rip Trump over his cluelessness, his corruption, and his subservience to Russia.

Now the former Director of the CIA is emphatically telling Trump off in no uncertain terms.

trump's tweets get even more childish and bizarre. Time for an intervention? The baby man president is so incredibly TOXIC but I'll give him some credit for being TOXIC in original ways for a president. Call him "modern" TOXIC?

"Donald Trump's malignant narcissism is toxic: Psychologist

Under a malignantly narcissistic leader, alternate facts, conspiracy theories, racism, science denial and delegitimization of the press become not only acceptable but also the new normal. If we do not confront this evil, it will consume us."

Trump Refers to Elizabeth Warren as "Pocahontas" at Native American Event

During remarks praising their service, Trump said, "We have a representative in Congress who they say was here a long time ago. They call her Pocahontas. But you know what, I like you."

It is simply breath taking what the Republican senate are allowing this fool to say and do without any form of accountability. Everyone is normalising this behaviour and it is far from normal. This man is the biggest embarrassment ever to walk the US and that says something.

I'm actually surprised CNN hasn't sued Trump for his fake and lying comments.

With DOJ's lawsuit challenging the merger between AT&T and Time Warner it might not be smart to do so now.

Not being an attorney I can only surmise the following:

Injury (ie., financial loss) may be difficult to quantify and prove at the parent corporate level considering subsidiary CNN broadcast revenues are probably insignificant to Time Warner's sources of revenue such as subscriptions, advertising and content. https://www.statista.com/statistics/194310/revenue-of-time-warner-by-source/

Furthermore, most "trusted news media" (which CNN ranks highly) doesn't equate with most "popular news media." http://www.businessinsider.com/most-and-least-trusted-news-outlets-in-america-2017-3

But I bet its news media popularity that drives revenues and not trustworthiness- case in point FOX News?

Then there is the constitutional question of whether a sitting president can be sued for contemporaneous remarks. Trump may have "presidential immunity" that requires him to be sued only in his personal capacity. William Clinton, Theodore Roosevelt, Harry Truman, and John F. Kennedy faced civil lawsuits for their pre-POTUS conduct while president at the time of the lawsuits. But even those cases provide no judicial precedence. https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/03/president-trump-civil-immunity/521151/

In a defamation suit against President Trump, how does one separate personal capacity from presidential capacity with regard to public comments? I don't believe it's possible unless President Trump caveat's his public statements as "personal opinions and not as president." Given Trump's ego - hasn't happened and never will happen. Even if Trump were to make such a distinction, a plaintiff probably couldn't move forward on the suit until Trump leaves office (2018, 2020, 2024?).

Maybe the best way CNN/Time Warner can challenge Trump on "Fake News" is to demand a public debate (moderated by FOX News? LOL). The most practical way is through promotion of CNN's trustworthiness and holding Trump accountable for his lack of trustworthiness. Whatever CNN is doing, it appears to be working: " Half the public finds CNN more trustworthy than President Trump." (July 2017)  http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/half-the-public-trusts-cnn-more-than-trump/article/2627747

Which makes a defamation lawsuit for injury all the more difficult.

His narcissism is a long term affliction, as this letter from his "secretary" to the New Yorker magazine in 1992 shows.  He can't change his (lack of) style, even when pretending to be someone else:

Let's face it even if they caught trump in bed with an underaged male Russian goat named Vladimir the current republican congress wouldn't vote to Impeach. If it's going to happen and that's a really big if it wouldn't happen before a wave midterm elections in 18.

But still it's important that Mueller continues and uncovers whatever truths it's possible to uncover.

Not even if the goat was doing the screwing while wearing a sombrero, screaming: ¡Ay, caramba!

Not even then??

Trump faked his heritage just like he's accusing Warren of doing

Shortly after World War II, Donald Trump's father Fred falsely claimed their family was Swedish, hiding their German heritage to avoid any problems selling apartments to Jewish customers, the Boston Globe reported last year.

Donald Trump was still claiming Swedish heritage as late as his 1987 book "Art of the Deal," in which he writes that his grandfather came to the U.S. from Sweden.

It’s always projection with these people.

“Crooked Hillary” = crooked Don

“election’s rigged” = we’re rigging the election

“it’s a swamp” = I’ll show you a real swamp

“I love the poorly educate” = I’m poorly educated, and I love me.

Unintended projection:

“They’re laughing at us” = I’ll give ‘em something to really laugh about.

And yet his ardent followers still believe his BS. Absolutely incredible. And very sad.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/27/nyregion/trump-tower-illegal-immigrant-workers-union-settlement.html?emc=edit_th_20171128&nl=todaysheadlines&nlid=80027960

In 1980, under pressure to begin construction on what would become his signature project, Donald J. Trump employed a crew of 200 undocumented Polish workers who worked in 12-hour shifts, without gloves, hard hats or masks, to demolish the Bonwit Teller building on Fifth Avenue, where the 58-story, golden-hued Trump Tower now stands.

The workers were paid as little as $4 an hour for their dangerous labor, less than half the union wage, if they got paid at all.

"I'm going to surround myself with only the best and most serious people."  D.Trump, 2016

If 'the best' is Flynn, Kushner, Bannon, Conway, Miller, Cohen, Pence, Don Jr., Scaramuchi,

Then Trump's definition of 'the best' hamburger, is the one made from sawdust, dragged through the gutter and burnt to a crisp.

How much do you want to bet that his foreign wife who was also working in the US illegally signed a pre-nup for less than half the price of a US wife?
