PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN: - The Prachuap chief of police has ordered security services to be on high alert in Hua Hin after the hospital bombing in Bangkok on Monday.

It is also recognized that following the bombing outrages suffered in Hua Hin last August that killed one and injured many that the resort could be a target again, reported Daily News.

Hospitals are also being asked to add CCTV.

While a contingent of foreign workers coming from the south to work in the fruit canning business are under special scrutiny.

Region 7 police chief Prasert Siriphanaphirat said yesterday that he had ordered security services to be on high alert.

This will mean more checkpoints.

He also asked the public to be the eyes and ears of the authorities watching out for suspicious behavior and packages.

He asked for the public to install extra CCTV outside homes and businesses and direct the cameras towards the street where possible.

He said that three large groups of workers were coming to the Nong Plap area from the south to work in a pineapple canning factory.

All workers were having their credentials and housing arrangements closely checked amid fears that terrorists may use the group as cover.

Meanwhile Dr Surin Seubseung of the provincial health authority said that national health chiefs had ordered all CCTV and lighting to be checked in area hospitals.

Hospitals in Hua Hin have been asked to consider extra CCTV in places within their facilities deemed "risky".

The bomb in the Bangkok hospital, reportedly packed with nails, hit a waiting room.

If the bomb in Bangkok was packed with nails, as was the Manchester bombing, has it been deemed as a terrorist attack?

Thailand always likes to avoid the word "terrorism" when such atrocities occur...
