webfact
Bang Saen sea turns green as area experiences "plankton bloom" CHON BURI: -- The entire coastal area at Bang Saen in Chonburi has experienced the phenomenon known as a plankton bloom. The result has been to change the sea color to green. This is the second time this has happened to the area in the last year. Plankton bloom occurs when there is a sudden and rapid rise in the amount of plankton in the water. This has occurred after very heavy rainfall recently, said Manager. Plankton bloom can also be destructive of other species but on this occasion reporters who went to the area said that no fish had died due to lack of oxygen. Thais call the phenomenon "khii pla waan" or whale excrement. Source: Manager -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2017-06-
trogers
And what causes the sudden and rapid rise in plankton? Discharge of large amount of sewage water?
