MUKDAHAN: -- A bomb squad in northeastern province of Mukdahan on Wednesday unearthed 24 explosive devices including mortar and artillery shells believed to be left over from the Indochina War.

The squad transferred the weapons, which were found at a property owned by Hataithip Duangjan in Muang district, pending their destruction.

Security officials and an explosive ordnance disposal team were alerted at about 8am by workers who were constructing a fence for Hataithip when they found the explosives.

Some of the explosives were reportedly still active.

Some people are very brave or absolutely stupid standing so close, in the real world the B Squad would use protection and keep the onlookers well away.

They're wearing protective hats.  And the submarine is on standby.

Indochina War? Then these explosives are from 1954 or before. The last battle was over in April 1954 in the Red River area in Vietnam ( Battle of Dien Bien Phu ).

It looks like the ammunition was buried there together and not live rounds fired from guns that did not explode therefore except for the water damage causing deterioration of the detonators   would not be as dangerous. Then again BOOM

The Indochina Wars were a series of wars fought in Southeast Asia from 1946 until 1989.
