Coco splash is gone..... literally.

Heard a while ago through a friend that the rent for the land had been jacked up to a silly price and that he (the owner) figured that they just wanted control of it and said he would raze the place if it comes down to it. This was told to me a couple of months back and was one of those things which gets logged and slowly dissipates into the mist of time. Not been down that way for a while but my mechanic is down that way and my rear tyre need a bit of air and this is what I saw.

 

 

 

 

According to my mechanic friend it took two days in total and it's not just buried as in the various pools but smashed up and then buried under bought in topsoil. Would have cost him a good few Baht but he did make sure that the people turning him over got nothing out of it. Kudos to the fella

 Aye. Good place to go with the kids because it was fenced off and secure so you could just let them get admonished by the staff. People die, bars come and go and restaurants open and close. Coco Splash was more of a public amenity and it is sad to see it go as a result of pure greed.

Yes too bad, the fun / water park in Ban Tai / Maenam area closed up too, several months ago.

 

I suspect  lack of customers than the rent being jacked up.

Hmm Jim and I say that with a capital 'H'. Takes a certain kind of character to raze something to the ground that you paid to have built and then to pay for its destruction. That is not a whim thing.

I was actually at Coco Splash last Sunday.
They have one pool and two rides left.
80 baht including Coke for children, 120 including beer for adults.

The owner has my respect that he just didn't bend over.

No, not the Pink Elephant.... actually one never hears anyone talking about that place (on Soi 1) Not sure how it's doing... never hear it mentioned..

Never been to the pink elephant, ridiculous price and no resident discount.
Coco Splash I visited every two months because me and my son got 50 % residence discount, I brought full paying visitors every time.
That's how you run a returning customer business.

Plern Waree didn't work because they didn't know what they wanted to be, waterpark, shopping mall, food court or Thai music bar.

Thanks – don't even recall it – was that the one by the Ring Road at Western end of Maenam almost opposite The Farmer, and close to former OK Outlet (now Fathaweeporn)..?

Almost opposite Susco gasoline  (used to be Esso) ....

 

I think just not close enough to resorts, that people could easily walk to to it .....
