Military stick the boot in after raw sewage floods Koh Phangan

Sorry to say this but...

The Army has been here and local big shots for ages.

Likewise, untreated sewage has been left to flow onto the beaches and into the ocean at various spots around Thailand for ages.

Likewise, there are a variety of broken-down and/or partially completed and/or abandoned sewage treatment plans at various spots around Thailand that never seem to actually get fixed.

So, after all that, what should we conclude about just how effective the Army is going to be about solving any of these problems?

army commander Thanongsak Permsanam took a contingent of soldiers to investigate and he was clearly not happy with the inaction.

So he decided to shoot and throw grenades to the sewage in order to stop it...  Hahaha, it reminds me of the old Italian comic strip Sturmtruppen! :cheesy:

so sick of hearing the military this, the military that.  Start some serious lawsuits and fines and prison terms and hold people accountable.

Accountable is not in the vocabulary, or the plan, or reality

Money for infrastructure on Koh phanhgan is allocated from Suratthani and is calculated on permanent residents on Koh phanhgan.
3/4 residents are not written on a Koh phanhgan housebook so not accounted for.
The tourist are not accounted for.
The Burmese are not accounted for.

This is the same issue phuket faces. The wealthier regions benefit from the out of date funding allocation formula and have long resisted any change.

It doesn't seem  to me that 'the wealthier regions' benefit.

For example very little money is spent on Samui but shit loads in the Surat Thani province on the mainland.

I think that you are talking '<deleted>' but would be pleased if you could explain.
