PATTAYA: -- At around 3:00am on June 12th, Pattaya police and emergency services were called to the scene of an accident in which 2 girls were left seriously injured.

The incident happened on the number 7 Motorway which links Pattaya to Bangkok.

Arriving at the scene, Police found 2 girls badly injured and in need of urgent medical assistance.

The 27 year old driver was found lying down in the middle of the road, not able to move, whilst the 24 year old passenger was sat up, but had visible injuries to her face and body.

Quick personal details were taken from the girls before they were rushed off to hospital to be treated for their injuries.

Fortunately for police, an eye witness to the accident was on hand to fill in the blanks. He told police that he had noticed the 2 girls on the motorbike driving at high speed. They attempted to enter up onto the motorway but underestimated the sharpness of the corner. Because of the speed they were going, they quickly lost control of the bike, causing them to crash into the concrete barrier.

No on else was involved in the accident.

Police will wait until the 2 girls make a full recovery before taking statements from them, but no charges are likely to be made.

How old before girls become women in this country?

It's irrelevant, as the terms used would be in Thai.  Dek, Dek Noi, Pooying, Dek Wai roon [teenager] Pooying dek noi etc etc. These two were definitely Pooying which translates to 'girl'. In the west, most would like to be called 'girl' until 22 anyway. No one likes to be reminded that they are getting older.

Nothing in it for them.  So two speeding, possibly drunk girls will be allowed back on to the road unchecked? Thai policing eh?

Wonder if the police will cite the two girls for not wearing their seat belts.

I don't really get this joke if meant as joke. No charges? I maybe wrong but I thought it was illegal to drive a motorbike on the number 7 highway.

Can't count how many such accidents happened at this point.

At least one big biker managed to fly over the barrier and fall to his death.

Here the barrier did what is meant for: saving their lifes.

That motorbikes are not allowed on this path (and frequently ignored) is not worth a mention in the report.

Oh, forgot, TiT.

yes, but.............

They will probably never do it again and perhaps their injuries are punishment enough? :whistling:

The Red Bull heir will probably never kill another policeman as the bad press has taught him a lesson - should he be released (if he's ever captured!)?
