Am applying for a single 60 day visa at the thai consulate in Philippines, as i cannot get a METV here they say i have to do in my own country, i think i have all the bases covered, but the one thing im not sure about is the requirement to show a hotel booking / reservation in thailand, firstly what period should this cover is it just a booking, and doesnt matter about duration, as i will be staying with friends is this something i can do without incurring a cost? i would rather not bother my firned with getting a copy of their passport and visa if i can avoid it.
I have attached the requirements for a Tourist Visa in the Manila Consulate as of May 2017

I did reservations for my METV last year on Agoda, which later I cancelled. I had bookings for 4-5 months in 2 week blocks. Worked for them, but I wonder if anyone in his clear mind (even in Thailand) believes that anyone books his hotels 5 months in advance.

BTW, let us know how it went. Do you go in person, or are you using a "Agent" from another place than Manila? I might be in the same position next year.

follow up as requested, no issues at all, submitted paperwork as above, got tourist visa 2 days later, the consulate in manila is pretty quiet and your in and out within 10 minutes, reasonably helpful if you have inquiries outside of hours stated, the location is great as there is one of the best coffee shops in manila a few doors down called wildflour, with almost certainly the best coffee available in phils, and there is a very good restaurant next door sarsa which has authentic filipino food.
