I know this subject is in this forum somewhere, but searched and searched but must be using the wrong key words. If anybody knows and could paste a link would be grateful

Weell on with it.

A friend of mine recently had a visit from the BinB and of course they found some copy Cd's of Thai music. This was not a bar, but a shophouse eating place. They managed to get the fine down to 20,000 Baht, but still just throwing away money.

The really annoying thing is that the CD's didn't belong to the owner, the staff had brought them in.

So any of you with a business, be warned. Make sure that your staff have not brought in any copies and left them lying around. They don't have to be in use.

They found copy of Farang music and pointed out that these are against the law, but they are not too interested right now - but one day they will!

Officially you need licenses to play Thai cd's in a public place.

System over here is that you have to have a license from each production house you play cd's from.

So you have couple of cd's from Grammy, you'll need a Grammy license.

You also happen to have some cd's from RS, then go get yourself a license from RS...

Most often these raids are on request of one of those companies, hence the total lack of interest in Foreign music!
