Best Middle East food in Patong?

Featured Replies

A friend has just written to me that the food in Beirut is amazing, we've tried Armenian, Lebanese etc and it's great.
Snack bars and falafel everywhere are cheap. Had an amazing chicken Schwarma for under $3 at lunchtime.
I've never tried it but would like to.
Anybody know which is the best in Patong at a reasonable cost please?

Sadly, from my experience, the Middle-east food in Patong is usually very overpriced and/or relatively poor quality.

Even the shawarma guys peddling on the streetsides are charging double what they should be. 100baht+ for a shawarma on the sidewalk is ridiculous.

you may be better off trying to make some of it at home.

You do know what is in the shoarma sauce, don't you?

The Family Restaurant on Viset south of Chalong Circle is the only place I know. I haven't been in a couple years, by it looked like they are still open. Link here: http://familyrestaurantphuket.com

The Family is good and I go there sometimes.

I prefer Istanbul in Kata. The owners and the cooks are Turkish and the food is excellent. They are really worth a try.

Kataturk, an amusing pun on Kata and Kemal Ataturk (founder of the Turkish Republic) is another well known Turkish restaurant and is almost opposite Istanbul.
