UDON THANI: -- Krung Thai bank in Udon Thani have warned the public that a woman is touring the countryside in the north eastern province posing as one of their loans officers.

 

The woman - aged 30-35 - has been photographed with her picture now circulating on social media.

 

She has been offering people who want to open shops or expand existing retail premises small business or SME loans.

 

Charoen Thamma of the Awuso branch of Krung Thai in the city said that she is in possession of bank documents but is nothing to do with them.

 

So far three people have complained to the bank after being ripped off for payments to initiate the loans. They parted with 45,000 baht, 25,000 and 3,500 each.

 

There are expected to be more victims.

 

Complaints are now being registered with the local police as the hunt for the bogus banker is stepped up.

 

Thai Rath reported that the story that is being shared widely across social media in an effort to flush out the con-woman preying on the country folk.

Just a habit inculcated since young, through buying the local lotteries...

Unless you are a cop, a high ranking official, or a drug dealer, there is no such thing as easy money. But the north eastern countryside is hardly known as an area populated with people enjoying common sense.

I foresee at LOT more complaints coming to light.......:thumbsup:
