I've been reading through lots of posts on this forum and have noticed lots of comments that could be seen as sexist. I have also noticed the relative scarcity of women making posts compared to men. Do women feel threatened or intimidated here? Have women's voices been silenced? I would be interested to hear your views.

Women have their own forums here.

Where they can talk and discuss "womens" things without the interference and hassle/trolling of males.

One is open the other is a protected forum.

I don't think ladies that post feel threatened or intimidated here by some men,  most of em understand cause they have children.

Women don't post here regularly because they're too busy cooking and cleaning, and doing the laundry and the washing up.

Yes, I feel extremely threatened & intimidated here due to all the sexy males on the forum.

As a generalisation i thnk there are some anti Western female postings on here and that is hardly surprising as a lot of guys i have met here (rightly or wrongly) feel they have been fleeced of either their money or their offspring, or both by ex Western partners.

who cares, as only three votes not many

Probably because not many female posters

The attempts at silencing or marginalising on this forum certainly are not restricted to gender issues. There will be attempts to silence you if you are negative about Thailand, if you are here for other reasons than to visit temples and beaches, if you are living on a low budget (CC) etc, etc.

And why should they ???

It's fortunate that we don't need a fat old whore-mangers sub-forum.  As Adam said, when God gave him a willy "You mean I can piss wherever I want?"

Can't say I feel silenced or ignored - but there are a few 'all Western women are fat/ugly/horrible' posts .

Best to ignore these rubbish comments as they are purely a reflection of the odd ridiculous, stupid poster.

As you say, derogatory comments are directed (by a few) against various 'groups'/posters - its not just gender related.
