webfact Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 Man found hanged in deserted plot off Rama IX road By The Nation BANGKOK: -- A man was found dead with a nylon rope around his neck under a tree at a deserted plot along the Rama IX Road in what was believed to be a suicide. Police said the body of Samrong Phamee, 48, from Khon Kaen, was found in the morning in a wooded area about 10 metres from a wall along the side of the road. A broken nylon rope was found hanging from the tree above the corpse. Police said they believed Samrong had hanged himself and the rope broke after he was dead. They added that rescuers from a social-welfare foundation had been alerted that a man had disappeared in the wooded area at 9pm on Tuesday night but they cancelled a search because it was dark and raining. When the search resumed on Wednesday morning, rescuers found the body. Source: http://www.nationmultimedia.com/detail/breakingnews/30321191 -- © Copyright The Nation 2017-07-19
impulse Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 Wonder how much money and how many man-hours they save by declaring a suicide as an alternative to doing any real investigating?

What a stupid statement to make . How can a NYLON rope break on its own ? If it was poor quality rope ( unlikely to be nylon ) it may have broke at the time of the hanging not afterwards

Nylon rope continues to stretch under tension, that is why mountaineers wont use it. Plastic based rope does the same.
