Three wheeled walker

Featured Replies

Following a bicycling accident four years ago I have had a problem with lymph fluid building up in my left leg as the day goes on. A compression garment helps a bit.

The leg gets heavier and consequently I have to concentrate when walking as it is easy to forget to lift it enough and therefore to trip over. This is a greater problem walking along the kind of uneven pavements you are presented with particularly in Bkk. Having a few inside me exacerbates the problem.

I usually have a walking stick which aids the walking in as much as it slows me down a bit. Concentration is the main thing but just walking can be quite problematic by evening time.

My elderly mother has a three wheeled walker to get around with and does quite well considering she is 92.

I recently tried out her walker and found it useful for my problem and better than a stick.

I now just Winter for four months in Thailand so acquiring one of these walkers for this period would be useful.

Where is the best place in Bkk. to get such a thing (I don't want the problem of carting one on a plane) in Bkk? It would better be second hand as I will likely discard it when I leave again.

Does anybody have any suggestions? Loads of oldies use such things in the UK. I don't recall seeing one in Thailand, but may be I just haven't noticed them as they are clearly useful anywhere and everywhere and are not usually difficult to buy.

Thanks..
