Check box gives wrong image in IE11

Featured Replies

To day for some reason when ticking a check box in IE11 I get a tiny image of a hand instead of the normal tick.

Like this:-

Normally it should be like this:-

Strangely this does not happen in Chrome, which still displays the normal tick, so guess it must be some setting in IE11 that somehow got changed.

Ideas welcome, solutions more welcome

Cheers

It's quite obvious that it is something with font(s) (settings).

Seems it is a missing font?

Does this help?

Yes the link helped. Seems when I changed the system Font to Ariel it a did something with the Segoe UI Symbol Font.

I'm sure this didn't happen last time.

Have changed back to default system Font for now and all I well, but I do like the general appearance with the Ariel Font so will have another go at a later date.

Thanks for your help

Just an update for anyone interested:-

Had another go at changing the system font to Arial, but I first copied the Segoe UI Symbol font from the Fonts folder.

Same thing happened, the system Font changed OK but the tick symbol was still wrong.

I then re-installed the copied Segoe UI Symbol Font into the Fonts folder and all is well. I have the new system Font and the tick symbols are also working correctly.

Changing the Windows 10 system Font is very easy and just as easy to revert to default if you don't like it.

Thanks for updating. Good practice
