Plenty of nice restaurants - pub on the river side.  ( Kuang River )

I agree about the restaurants, there's some really nice ones and I've had many enjoyable evenings although there's a few who advertise steak but never have any available.

 

I've never found anywhere in the Lamphun area with beer that is actually beer and not simply lager that's being called beer.  I've often wished for a nice pint of mild and thought of starting a brewery, but I think it would be unsuccessful because it's a niche market without enough customers.

 

As far as taxis go, maybe you could try GRAB taxi as I've got them to come out to me a few times when the local village taxi bloke wasn't available.

The only place in Lamphun with real beer is The Dukes at Jampha Shopping Mall. No craft beer but a British and an Australian beer on the menu. On the menu, I've not ordered any so not sure if they actually stock it.
