Myanmar authorities on Tuesday shut down a narcotics factory located seven kilometres from the Thai border, seizing 30 million ya ba pills and other drugs.

Narcotics suppression police raided the building in Tachilek province, opposite Mae Sai in Chiang Rai, and arrested three men aged 27, 35 and 52 and a 15-year-old girl.

As well as the ya ba (methamphetamine) contained in 85 sacks, they found four sacks of ecstasy, eight kilograms of heroin and 500 grams of crystal meth, commonly known as ice.

Also seized were 24 gallons of a base chemical for making drugs, three pickup trucks, three shotguns, a tablet press, scales, logo stamps and packaging materials.

Wow. That is a big haul, kudos to all involved in stopping this.

Makes me wonder however how many of these labs are still up and running in this type of border area.

Tip of the iceberg for sure.................

That's a huge drug bust. I wonder if they'll get the upper echelon folks who are running it. My guess is those 4 arrested are pretty small potatoes.
