Join in “the fun” at the annual Mother’s Day Half Marathon in Bangkok

BANGKOK: -- Mark 2017 Mother’s Day and get fit into the bargain by running in the August 12th Half Marathon at Benjakitti Park (that’s the one next to Queen Sirikit National Conference Center and right by the MRT Station of the same name).

The 21-km route heads south from the park along Ratchada and then Rama 3 Roads before turning around and finishing in the park. Don’t feel up to running 21 km? No worries, as there are also 10K, 6K and even 1.8K routes, so there’s no excuse for not dusting off the old trainers.

The Mother’s Day Half Marathon has been organized by NCC Management & Development Co., Ltd., the management of Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, since 1993. The event has evolved into a more international model since its early days. It encourages members of the general public to stay healthy and to express their loyalty on the 85th birthday anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit on August 12, 2017. The event also raises funds for Breast Cancer research as well as the Thai Red Cross.

The half marathon event gets underway at 5.30 am (ouch) and has nine age group categories. The gun for the 10K is a little later at 6.15 am. Find more information at https://www.12aughalfmarathon.com
