you can prove with your bank statement that you were outside the country when you first withdraw money at ATM after you come back

No. such an alibi could be created by a third party using the card.

Yes, it will prove I litftwnThailand at some point but it doesn't prove I left it in time. I could have left the country yesterday and they wouldn't know. That's what I have a bad feeling about, they might think (and the immigration facts kinda suggest it) I stayed in Thailand longer than I should have been allowed to.

Do you think that will not be an issue?

The arrival stamp of the country your flight landed In will be dated, so that  should be your proof......unless It was a country with electronic  scanning such as Australia.

no arrival and no exit stamp in an EU country if he holds an EU passport! don't know about UK though.

In the UK there is no arrival stamp but passport control do stick the passport under their reader so maybe there is a record of that

What about contacting immigration in your home country to get a letter saying you returned. I know they probably don't stamp your passport but they must scan it.

Not sure how you managed to make that huge mistake.

Do have your boarding pass for you flight out of  Thailand and/or the ticket for the trip? With those you might be able to convince immigration on arrival you really did leave the country.

very difficult to comprehend how that could possibly happen. If he came in by a domestic flight he must check-in (with- or without luggage) at a check-in Counter to retrieve his Boarding pass for the ongoing flight! How could he have a boading pass for the ongoing flight without checking in?

A guy entered Thailand without exit stamp and got locked up..

I dont how you could have been allowed to skip immigration procedures.. This is thier mix up.

You need to be careful you may be accused of illegally exiting thailand and depending on thier mood the fact you can prove you did leave thailand is irrelevant.. But why did you evade immigration? What were you hiding etc? May be the thing on thier mind..

Dont mean to scaremonger but the quoted story teaches you one lesson remain calm and polite.
Sorry mate but after reading that story if I was you there is no way I would return to Thailand. Unless I had written proof all this was fixed before, I would simply be to scared. And wouldn't consider a holiday worth the risk.I have no faith in Thai imagination to fix this on a arrival. That's just what I would do just saying.

A inflammatory post has been removed.

People need to go back and read the OP and and first 2 pages of the topic before posting. If they did this topic would not be so long. A lot of repeated and unneeded posts would be avoided.

If any such stamp exists in the passport, it will be great proof. Depending on where the OP flew into, there may be no such arrival stamp.

Yeah, Like If the OP Has a British Passport & Travelled to the U.K He Won't get stamped back INTO The U.K.....

They must scan a British passport on Arrival. If it was me I would contact the home office in UK. Tell them my problem and ask for a written letter saying what date I returned to the UK. Or I would go to the Philippines instead.

Not doubting you but that's never happened to me. Returning from Thailand to London anyway. So odds are most people would have there passport scaned when returning to the UK. No ideal about other countries but would have thought there passport was more likely to be scanned than not.

OP what country are you from?

After reading that story I don't think I would try and enter again ever, the only solution may be to get a new PP however something will still probably flash up on the screen upon entry

The OP can provide as much proof as he wants that he did leave however he did so illegally

If he does try and it is spotted then he will be imprisoned then deported so hardly worth trying it in my view, it's not as though he will get a holiday here

Not having a pop at you in any way OP but you really need to consider not coming back unless you are willing to face the music, go through the process and then return at a later time providing you are not blacklisted

Good luck in whatever you decide to do

On recent trips to the UK I've used the self-scan passport system (which I assume logs your arrival).  Prior to that I used the IRIS recognition system (which again logged your arrival).  But until I registered for that I'd have to queue up with masses, only to be waved through as soon as they looked at the PP & photo - so no record or arriving UNLESS notified by the airline.  But I'd have hoped things have changed by now though.

Something doesn't add up to this story - is there something that you're not telling us?

Unless you were born yesterday or were traveling overseas for the first time in your life (to Thailand),

it is impossible to believe that it didn't strike you - every arrival stamp, needs a corresponding departure stamp.

If you want to travel to Thailand again it is important that you get this sorted out asap.

Call up the airport immigration and ask to speak to somebody in English, and explain the situation.

If a genuine mistake has been made,  now is the time to clear it out.

If you're lucky, you will not get an overstay fine or worse.

Given that you're from a non-visa waiver country,

will give Immigration all the more reason to scrutinize your intentions and travel history.

Best to get it sorted now.

I also wonder if the power to let him enter Thailand is simply out of the hands of any Thai IO. And the world be forced to process him through the system. Don't seem worth the hassle for a holiday. I am sure that's not what the OP wants to here, but if some of the great minds on here haven't got a Answer for him it not worth the risk.

It was then I spotted the boarding pass from the previous years flight out, in my passport wallet.

When I showed them both this it all suddenly changed to big smiles all around, non bigger than the one I was spouting

If the OP checked-in online on his international flight and got a boarding pass printed, he still should have a copy of that Boarding pass in his Computer which can be used as a proof.

No on-line check in in 2007.

All that proves is that he printed out a boarding pass.

So calling Thai embassies in my country was a waste of time. Can't even talk to a real person, only recordings of basic information.

Why don't you go in person and what's your home country?

I have no opinion on the truthfulness of the Road Junky story, but I do note this statement from that linked site:

Road Junky specialises in provocative, off-the-cuff travel writing that isn't meant to be taken too seriously.

No on-line check in in 2007.

It proves that he left and that he left illegally well actually it doesn't prove that he actually left, he needs confirmation from the Airline that he boarded the flight

Most people on this thread seem to be missing the point, the main issue is no exit stamp in either his PP or Immigration's system
